Michael Howell has a broad background in landscape design, site planning and urban design. He has been active in the design field for over 15 years. He has worked on a variety of local and international projects. His experience ranges from small scale residential design to large scale University planning.

Michael’s portfolio of work includes residential gardens, residential estates, urban plazas and streetscapes. He also has experience with university level campus planning, but his passion is for residential landscape design.

Michael’s passion for all things outdoors led him to studies at The University of British Columbia in the early 1990s. After his first year of study at The School of Landscape Architecture, Michael was offered a summer position working with the University Planner.  This part-time position soon turned into five years of full-time employment working with architects, landscape architects, planners and maintenance crews as The University’s Urban Designer.

With over 15 years under his belt, Michael enjoys greening California and British Columbia one garden at a time, working with some incredibly forward-thinking clients from San Diego and Palm Springs to Vancouver.  His real passion is in residential garden design.

Michael has a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and is a Member of Association of Professional Landscape Designers.
